The Company was founded in 2002 and it is the biggest in Poland and the 9th largest sugar producer in Europe. Our share in the domestic market is nearly 40 per cent, and as far as revenue from the sales and capital are concerned, we are one of the 100 biggest companies in Poland. We also have a majority block of shares of the Leśmierz S.A. sugar factory. The company factories are plants with many years of experience on the market. Located in 8 districts, they process 3 million tons of beets a year provided by 18 thousand farmers working on nearly 75 thousand hectares. All of them produce sugar which complies with European standards. Their buyers are acknowledged Polish companies as well as renowned international concerns. Since the very beginning, Krajowa Spółka Cukrowa S.A. has been making efforts to achieve high quality standards and to be competitive when compared to foreign companies. To accomplish that, in 2003 we started the process of thorough restructuring which involves lowering costs, improving profitability and concentrating the production in the largest and strongest plants. We are simultaneously implementing the complex investment program in Polish sugar factories, whose value surpassed 300 million PLN.
